Genetic Associate

 

Primary Role: Provide Genetic Counseling, information, support and education to individuals/families participating in genetic studies.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

95%        Provide genetic counseling to individuals who have been diagnosed with a genetic condition that are participating in genetic studies at various clinics. Provide follow-up where appropriate and communication to primary care physicians regarding patient’s health management, support services and daily living. Maintain patient records and dictations for patients/families counseled.

5%          Participate in regular teleconferences and conferences regarding current studies. Assist with activities that support the research mission ranging from data collection to chart auditing.

 


Qualifications:

Minimum Education: M.S. in Genetic Counseling from an ABGC accredited genetic counseling program. Board certification by ABMG/ABGC.

Minimum Experience: 1 year of experience minimum

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities: Must be very well organized and have acute attention to detail.
