Genetic Counselor

Join three clinicians in providing genetic counseling for developmentalpediatrics, birth defects, high risk obstetrics, and oncology services. Genetic Counseling position in a clinical genetics practice located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. An excellent full or part-time opportunity.  Our organization provides quality medical health care services that are unique to this large catchement area.

Compensation depends on experience and will be paid on an hourly basis Must be able to work in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude

Requirements:  Must be a graduate of an accredited genetic counseling program with a Masters degree in Genetic Counseling.  Must be Board Certified or be eligible to sit for the exam by the American Board of
Medical Genetics.

Description:  Provides general genetic counseling , and/or pre- and post-testing support for genetic testing. Collects appropriate clinical and family information necessary for risk assessment, scheduling of appropriate tests, proper interpretation and follow up of test results....

Department: VEI/IMM - Community Breast Care - North - VEI, Indianapolis, IN

Full Time (Benefited) - 8am - 5pm - Days -

DUTIES: Responsibilities will include provision of oncology genetic counseling, including case preparation, literature searches, record review, counseling, risk assessment, coordination of appropriate testing, follow-up, dictation to referring physician and referral to appropriate specialists.

EDUCATION: Masters degree in Genetic Counseling

LICENSURE: Board certification or board eligible by the American Board of Genetic Counseling and/or the American Board of Medical Genetics.

EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working in oncology; knowledgable of the field of oncology genetics, including recognition of hereditary cancer syndromes and familiarity with resources to identify genetic testing options, research studies and patient support.
