Down Syndrome Day is a global awareness day advocating for the rights, inclusion and well being of people with Down syndrome.  Down Syndrome International will be hosting the World Down Syndrome Day Conference on March 21st at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.  This year’s conference is entitled “Right To Work”.  The conference hopes to emphasize the right for “individuals with Down syndrome and other disabilities to work in open, inclusive and accessible environments. It will highlight the importance of early development and education, proper medical care, and support for employment, independent living and community participation in realizing this right.”  More information can be found at: http://www.worlddownsyndromeday.org/

In honor of World Down Syndrome Day (Thursday, March 21st), Down Syndrome Indiana is working with the National Down Syndrome Congress and Riley Hospital for Children on a very special, “super secret” event….. A FLASH MOB! and we encourage all of you to attend if it works in your schedule. EVERYONE is invited to dance– individuals with Down syndrome, parents, friends, etc.  We are very excited for this amazing opportunity to share with Indianapolis the talents and personalities that we are lucky enough to see every day!
